All White

My first Reiki patient of the night was a man recovering from colon surgery.  He showed me his incision so I could see that he wasn't really bleeding any more, just a little bit.... wince.  He was very interested in getting his bowels in motion so he knew that he didn't have to have an addition surgery to repair what wasn't healing back together.

It was his first Reiki experience and I explained to him a little bit about the chakras - energy wheels of the body.  I mentioned that his surgery was in the chakra called the Solar Plexus which is the seat of personal power.  I asked him if he had a meditation practice because that would help him to relax and get the most of the session.  He said that he used to meditate quite often and was even able to get to a place of all white light, but that he hadn't done that in many months.  I told him that he didn't have to get to any place and that just following his breath would be exactly what would help him relax.

When I started his head was very warm.  Sometimes the thinking mind can create a lot of energetic heat.  He didn't release all of the heat, but he allowed some to pass out.  When I reached his stomach, across the room I saw Jesus was present.  He was not actively engaged in the session, but was there provide an energy of assistance.  I held my hand here for quite some time and the energy was strong there as well as the resistance to movement in the Solar Plexus.  I did sense some give and heard some gurgling.

I moved to the leg and feet.  At his feet I saw a lotus flower with a long stamen.  I saw a bouquet of flowers at his hip as well as I traveled down.  When I returned to his stomach on the other side, Jesus stood behind me and put his arm over mine to double the strength of the energy.  He also bowed down to give the man an embrace and said I said to him 'Don't you want to just hug them all?'  He nodded.  I felt a wash of connection with all that is. I couldn't help but tear up.

Jesus also talked to me about my role in this life.  He mentioned how I would continue the work of Mary Magdalene and I might not always understand the reaction I got from my partners.  He noted that this work would bring up lessons that were not meant for a novice.  

Our conversation ended and he left.  I placed my hand on the patient's shoulder and over his heart.  He had a faint green color around his heart, but cracks of deeper green started to emerge.  At one point, he coughed and his hands turned into fists and I thought for sure he was awake, but he wasn't.  I closed up the treatment and left the room to write up my notes.  He was sleeping soundly with a wee bit of snoring... ;)  <3 EE

Old Soul Of the Sea

Reiki patient number two - Woman from Wisconsin with a son who has 8 years in on the Air Force legal team.  Her husband and son both went to the same college I did.  We were bonded from the start!

She had never had Reiki before but had recently been in surgery on her colon and currently was not excited to have a bag attached to her.  She had no appetite and was frustrated that she had to chew every bite 20 times before she swallowed.  Peanut butter on a spoon was all she really could stomach.

She put on her sweater over her feet and we started.  She had a little heat energy to release right away, but almost immediately she started speaking in beautiful blue and white images.  The first image was a double helix spinning.  She was using the energy to strengthen and cleanse her DNA.  This was a spirit who knew what to do with energy being offered.  At her belly, a vision of the ocean with bright blue water and vibrantly colored starfish creatures swimming up.  There was a change in the scenery and a cave appeared with a furry animal in a cloak standing inside.  I waited for the animal to show its head, but it never did.  The light I had been envisioning coming from my hands then turned to big blue water droplets and my hands became a shower head and the image was washed away by the flow.

Movie scenes of ocean images floated by as I moved down her left side.  It seems she was just happy to be in this place again and was using the energy to feel the joy of being creative again.  At her feet the bust of Jesus appeared in a painted colorful underwater world and she placed a lei around his neck.  As I moved back up her left leg, she preferred the energy in natural forms, in waves of water, tree energy, or bird movement.

At her stomach a large black bird resembling a phoenix or even a dragon flew directly into my face.  I stood my ground and studied the bird noting it was trying to startle me, but I was more curious than afraid.  I told the bird to go and out the window he flew.  Then from her ear I saw on white wing emerge, then the face of a dragon and the other wing on the other side of the face.  This dragon recognized me and gently flew to greet me and to snuggle my face.

And with that I finished up the treatment and exited the room.  The joyful old soul was peacefully asleep. <3 EE

You're in Good Hands

It's been a while since I have made it into the hospital to see patients wanting a Reiki treatment.  Word is out with the nursing staff that the service is available so more orders come in which is exciting, but I have found that usually the patients know nothing about the treatment.  Thankfully they are willing and open to try if it means that they can have a moment or two of peace or they can find out something about themselves that was unknown prior.

This post is about the third patient I saw last night.  Her nurse was awesome and was SO excited that I had come to give this treatment to her patient.  She nearly jumped with excitement.  Nurses have such dear hearts!  The patient was on a oncology/hematology floor which means some form of blood cancer. She was sporting her Sinead O'Connor look well and had good energy levels.  She was planning on being in the hospital for about 10 more days.

She had never had a Reiki treatment before so I explained the format to her and I told her about some of the things I have noticed as people relax into the treatment.  I mentioned to her that she might want to explore what the energy feels like in her body, if it's flowing freely or if there are blockages, does it feel warm, does it feel light or prickly...

She started out well allowing some energy to release in the form of heat from her head and shoulders.  At her stomach I saw shapes like a honeycomb fused together start moving and re-positioning themselves into another formation.  They were a very vibrant blue and reminded me of building blocks.  Before and after the shape rearranging, swirling purple filled the abdomen.

At her feet, I saw a perpendicular web of golden string covering her body.  It took but seconds and her body had dissolved the strings.  At the right foot, a big beetle with whiskers that lit up came toward me slowly as if it was searching for something.  I asked it if it found anything.  It never responded, just jumped up and over the foot and down through the floor and to the earth.  I asked if there were any more beetles exploring and if they wanted to leave.  I gush of yellow liquid flew out over my left shoulder.  And then came the bubble making..... glowing bubbles produced at the bottom of the foot formed and slowly moved up the leg into darkness.  About four of those filled up with air and then the right foot position was done.

I moved up to her right knee and hand.  What I was shown was a perfect copy of her body as it was dressed right now in the palm of her own hand.  I got choked up.
