Dear Jon

5 weeks in the hospital...  Can you imagine?  Today I had a patient who was feeling depressed after this extended stay in the hospital and then got some unfortunate news.  He had never had an energy treatment before, but he was willing to try it and his wife thought it would help calm him.  She was right. :)

I didn't talk much to him, but I talked mostly to his wife.  He just got himself comfortable on the bed as I had instructed.  He was 66, frail, and breathing with oxygen in a tube into his nose.  His face was grey like the lighter shades of grey sky in the picture to the right.  I told him that he only had to do one thing.  Receive.

I told his wife that energy work is very much intention based so if she wanted to join me with intention of him receiving exactly what he needs today that I thought it would benefit Jon.  She made herself comfortable on her cot near the window and closed her eyes.  What a trusting and loyal soul!  I was honored to be heard by her.

When I started the treatment, his head immediately received energy.  He was doing a good job.  I told him so (sliently of course).  His breathing was choppy, but I tried to use my yogi breath ocean waves to calm his breathing.

What I saw at his stomach was very notable.  I had one hand on his hand and one over his stomach and I saw a single eye with eyelashes or a feather falling over the front of the eye.  The eye was outlined in black with a purple swirling background.  The eye was not showing emotion.  It disaappeared and another single eye appeared.  4 or 5 different single eyes appeared and left my mind's eye.  At his left ankle, the bald head of a child appeared.  The child was looking up.... looking for a mother's love.  I asked Mother Earth to give him love and the Mother in me also responded.

At his left foot and left ankle, I saw a bug.  It was large and had a club for an arm.  It was not a welcome bug and I could tell it was not helpful so I asked it to leave and it did.  In its place was a single larva worm lying on its back very peacefully.  I also saw a clean colon... the transverse colon because it was positioned horizontally.

His feet continued the child's request from Mother Earth and she answered with many rays of bright green light beaming up and over his entire body.  It was as if the sun was rising at his feet in all green hues; loving green heart chakra light of healing from Mother Earth.  I felt it and teared up.

I asked at his right hand if he had an animal watching over him and I saw a cat... well mostly the tail, but I never saw the face of the cat nor could I tell if it was a leppard, a tiger, or a house cat.  Sometimes those cats are elusive.  :)

When I had one hand on his hand and one hand on his shoulder, I could feel his body trembling again.  He had a lot of tension and rigidity in his shoulders and chest.  His breathing was fine, but he was shaking.  His arm was twiching quite often too.

I ended the treatment and then his IV machine started beeping.  His wife tried to stop it, but the nurse had to come in to get it to stop  He didn't wake up even through the beeping.  He was sleeping.... something he hadn't been doing much of because he was dreaming about getting a whole new digestive system....a  new stomach... the third eye in his stomach was telling him this in his dreams.... how COOL!

Turns out he had something wrong with his pancreas... but he hadn't been eating and dreams about his new stomach were keeping him from getting restful sleep.... until he received Universal Life Force Energy today... and then he could sleep through beeping IV machines... Oh the power of Love and the intention of two women (and BIG Mother Earth)!

Patience in a Patient

Yesterday I visited a patient who had been waiting probably the length of her stay for a Reiki treatment... she's been in the hospital for a month.  YIKES!  She understood that we are volunteers and we do our best, yet she knew she really needed a boost from a treatment.

She wanted my card.  She wanted to hang onto me.  She wanted to know that I could be reached again.

In her eyes, was yearning....  She was confused.  She was spent.  Her pain rating wasn't high, no nausea, but her fatigue rating was the highest possible... and I understand how that could be after a month in the hospital.  She was hooked up to 4 different bags when I went to see her so I'm sure she had more during her stay.  She needed strength.  She had tears in her eyes when I came in and she saw that she was going to get her Reiki.  Bless her soul!

Her treatment wasn't spectacularly illuminating.  I reminded her it would be exactly what she needed today.  And I reminded her that her only job was to receive. :)  She did immediately... I had both hands on her head (gloved and robed because she was in ICU).  She received like a champ... she had lots of purples and greens and even a 3D animal at her feet...which looked like an antelope crossed with a snake.  A puma leaping also came across at her right knee.

The most notable part of the treatment to me was feeling her breathing.  Even when I was at her head and her feet, I could feel her breathing in my hands.  I noticed because I was trying to calm down her breathing to match mine.  I use my breath to keep me centered.

When I left, she was sleeping.  She didn't move when I brought my hands together and closed the treatment.  She didn't move when I removed my gloves and robe.  She was basking in the warmth.

Many times I tell patients that I hope I never see them again.  This is something said in love because I don't want to see them in the hospital any more.  For my Patient Patient I truly don't want to see her again.  My intention for her from the beginning was that she regain strength to return home.  Hopefully I did my job. :)

Emotion Around the Heart

The request read something like: Please help:  New mother post-35 hour labor in need of some Reiki for pain relief and relaxation.  I will take this call!

The patient is a first-time mother of a baby boy and in great spirits after that labor and then eventual c-section.  She has a headache from the spinal tap drugs and is hoping her milk will come in, but her energy seemed great to me.  She had a friend visiting and was very happy to see me!  She too is a Reiki Master and was so thankful that I had come. Reiki twin powers... unite! :)

She was a great receiver immediately pulling from my hands.  I think her appreciation helped with this transfer as well as our general blend of radiant energy. When I was at her midsection for the second time, her hand came up and moved my left hand to over her c-section scar and then a very strong circle of energy arrived.  She started to relax and sigh in relief.  A big smile came over her face.  I moved my hand to over her heart and she started to cry.  Later she told me they were tears of relief... relief around her heart that her son was ok and that all would be fine.  She said that her hips released and she felt a lot of comfort in her back and neck too which hasn't been able to happen for a long time.

She thanked me many times and told me that I needed to keep doing what I'm doing. She said the session was amazing.  She was very relaxed. She took down my name.  She works in the hospital too and wanted to be sure to have my name handy for others.  Maybe she and I will be a great team! :)
